I've been looking for the past few months for a dress for my sister's upcoming wedding. It has sort of crept up on me! I thought I had a few more months to
So I had a post all ready to get your guys' help! Because I sure need it! But then, before it was ready for me to hit publish, I panicked and bought a dress! I decided to post a few dress pictures of ones I was thinking of, and then at the end show you the one I ordered. Let me know what you think! (click on the pictures to head to the websites!)

The one I bought is this one...

It's very different for my typical clothing choices. I have only lately started wearing brighter colored clothes. I stay away from patterns. And it's a dress! But for some reason I LOVE this dress! It should be getting here tomorrow! So if it doesn't fit or if I hate it I might need to keep looking.
But what about you guys... Do you love or hate dresses? Where's your favorite store for dress shopping? What's the best kind of dress for outdoor summer weddings?
I LOVE dresses! I'd wear them all the time if I could (but I often wear a pair of short gym shorts underneath, for comfort)
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to wear dresses but was self-conscious about my body - I'd buy the cutest dresses I could find in my size, wear them once, feel incredibly uncomfortable, and then bury it in my closet. I sold a ton of them on eBay a few months ago because they were all too big, and I bought a couple cute new smaller ones. Not sure if you ever saw the show, but fashion-wise, I wanna be Charlotte Charles from "Pushing Daisies." Cute dresses, always. Effortless cool. The first dress pic you posted looks like a dress she would wear. Though, really, I love all the ones you shared here!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a dress person. I think it's because I'm short waisted, so they never really fit properly. Plus, I think 13 years of wearing dresses and skirts as part of school uniform is enough for a lifetime!!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I really like the first dress you posted. So cute!
I am a fan of dresses, but sometimes wearing them gets in the way of doing my job. I'm pleased that you are branching out into colour! So few people do, but I think it makes people smile to see colour around them.
ReplyDeleteI love dresses. I have so many. And I just got a new job that I love to which I have to wear pants every day. So now I have a closet full of dresses that I can never wear! I love your choices!
ReplyDeleteAll Dresses are beautiful but the one you ordered is absolutely stunning. Very pretty (will we see pictures of you modeling it on her day?)
ReplyDeleteI'm a dress/skirt girl, I prefer them over pants - isn't it funny?
I think you have to be comfortable in your skin for dresses... I love them SO much but when I wear them I feel uncomfortable and end up changing. I will buy tons though!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was happier with my size I wore them all the time! I hope I can manage to lose some weight this summer so that I can go on a dress spree and actually feel comfortable in them!
I like the one you bought... and ALL of the ones you considered!
I used to hate dresses....now I LOVEEEE them! I'm going to buy a bunch for hawaii next sat!
ReplyDeleteooo! That's a good idea! I never think to wear shorts underneath! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteThat's totally what I do! I'm hoping as I lose weight I'll be more and more comfortable. I've put off buying new clothes because I want to wait. But I think I might just have to buy a few items, perhaps a cute dress or two. Might be more inspiration to work out harder?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I suppose that would do it! I grew up on a farm so it was never practical to wear dresses! We'd wear them on Sundays to church and school concerts but then back to pants we went!
ReplyDeleteAww! You'll have to make sure to wear them on your days off! More excuses to go out and have fun!
ReplyDeleteFor sure! I am so envious of people who's wardrobes are so bright and cheery! I imagine they probably have very similar dispositions!
ReplyDeleteThank-you! It arrived and is too small :( I am SO disappointed! So I had to order a different dress. But we'll see... perhaps I'll share a picture. I'll probably (conveniently) be behind the camera all day. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting! Have you always preferred them?
Oooo! Fun! There are some really cute sundresses!
ReplyDeleteI like browsing shops for cute adorable dresses but I never feel comfortable or adorable in them! I think if I had a couple I LOVED then I could probably be converted to a dress lover/wearer!
