First Season Tv Shows

Whenever I start watching a new show I like to give it quite a few episodes before I make a judgement whether I add it to my must watch shows or not. I think every show takes a while to work its self out and really develop the characters and series plots.

Here's a few shows in their first season that made the cut:

I missed the first couple episodes of this show so when I started watching I didn't quite follow all the story lines and relationships. I really badly wanted to like this show so I stuck it out for several episodes and I'm so glad I did because it's seriously my new favorite show! I'm so into this show! And can't wait to see where they go with it!

I LOVED the pilot for this show!! Absolutely loved it! That's why I was so disappointed with the second and third episode. It has since redeemed it self. A large part to Justin Long making some guest appearances. Jess is awkward and hilarious at the same time. I'm hoping they make something happen between her and Nick soon instead of dragging it out for a couple seasons.

Jon and I are generally a fans of most things Tim Allen is involved with so we were excited to start watching Last Man Standing. He plays a similar character to that of Tim in Home Improvement except this time he has three daughters and works in an outdoor store. There's many episodes that make me laugh and the chemistry between the three daughters is really believable that they could be sisters. I think one of my favorite episodes so far is The Inglorious Baxters: Pie Rack.

I was up in the air about this show. There's some really funny and good episodes but they're still developing the characters so some weeks it leaves me disappointed. I think it has the potential to be a good show!

Bomb Girls is a tv mini-series with 6 episodes. It's based back in World War II and it follows the lives of several woman who worked in a bomb factory. It was interesting to watch a storyline from WWII that showed how the woman in Canada had their lives and character altered by their roles during the war. To refer to a line in the show, they were the strong force that fought from the lines at home. The season finale was last week but they've just announced there is going to be a second season! Can't wait for that.

Looks like right now I'm into shows with a strong female lead actor! Interesting. I wonder if there are a lot of new shows out this year like that?  What are some of your favorite or not favorite shows in their first season? Any recommendations for shows I should give a chance to?

  4. I watched the pilot of Heart of Dixie and just didn't love it.  I did not have dvr at the time, so I just gave up on it.  I'd be interested in seeing New Girl and also Bomb Girls.  Interesting choices!  I mostly watch tv on dvd.  Right now I'm re-watching Dawson's Creek.  And I adore Bones!!
