The curser blinks back at me from the screen, waiting for my answer. I type, and words appear; only to be erased not long after. I turn off the computer for the night and try again the next morning. It appears this question has stumped me.
Your 6 sentence short story
What is my short story? Do I give a quick bio? Write a light hearted mockery of myself? I think perhaps I'm over thinking this to the point of writer's block. I'll drink another cup of coffee and let the caffeine do the talking.

Hahahahaha, oh wow, I pretty much love this! It made me wanna go read your answer again! But of course I've read it a couple times while copying and pasting it into the feature. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteAw, I loved it! At first I thought it said "6 word short story" - have you ever heard of those? Really interesting.
ReplyDelete"According to legend, Ernest Hemingway created the shortest short story ever told. While having lunch at New York City's famous Algonquin Round Table, Hemingway bragged that he could write a captivating tale—complete with beginning, middle, and end—in only six words. His fellow writers refused to believe it, each betting $10 that he couldn't do it. Hemingway quickly scribbled six words down on a napkin and passed it around. As each writer read the napkin, they conceded he'd won. Those six words? 'For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn.' While the anecdote may be apocryphal, whoever did write 'Baby Shoes' has forced writers forever after to consider the economy of words. Today, the work has inspired countless six-word memoir and story competitions, proving that a story's brevity is no limit to its power."
hahah thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for featuring me on your blog!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's fascinating! Thank-you for sharing! And what a neat way to look at the art of story telling! My husband took a story telling class in college, I had no idea there was so much to it! I know I need to improve my skills in it! Some people have a huge talent. They can make any event into an interesting story!
