I spent a couple hours in my craft room organizing and creating. I went through some old school pattern books for my knitting machine. I was hoping to find something easy for me to try but everything seems so complicated at this point still.
But how old school is this pattern book! I love how it says "Knit with the speed of a hundred hands!"
My craft room is in dire need of a good organization system. I picked up a bookshelf and started organizing a few of my things. I made bolts to display my fabric. It makes it so much easier to see what I have!
Today we took the dogs out for one of their favorite hikes. The last place we lived had some great trails we took the dogs down weekly. They've missed them since we moved; so we took them for a walk down them today. We hid a geocache down it so we thought it'd be a good time to check on it.
It was a beautiful day for a hike!
This year must have perfect conditions for saskatoons because the trails are covered in them!
The geocache is doing good! It was fun reading what everyone who has found it wrote in the book!
This hill is so much higher than it looks!
This is my "it's-almost-too-hot-to-walk" look
Speaking of great looks... this is how you pick saskatoons when you forgot the buckets at home by the door.
We picked into our hats and then dumped them into a bag we had in the car. Not the most ideal way but it worked!
You know you've had a successful berry picking day when your hands look like this
Also, coming home with 38 cups of saskatoons doesn't hurt!

Sounds like a good fun and productive weekend. It was gorgeous here too. Did you make anything with your knitting machine?
ReplyDeleteIt was! It's so much more enjoyable when nice weather coincides with long week-ends! No I didn't make anything with it. All the patterns were too intimidating. I should just start and see what happens! I'm not getting any better by just reading patterns!
DeleteI'm sorry but what in the heck is a "saskatoons?" Is it a cousin to the blueberry? Must be a Canada thing..lol
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Only my most favorite berry! It's similar to a blueberry but I think it has a sweeter nuttier taste. Hahaha it might be a Canada thing. I wonder if they're mailable ;)
