Our Staycation

Every year Jon never takes his full vacation time so we decided to have a staycation this past week!

For the most part the weather was gorgeous and sunny! We spent quite a bit of time out there watching the snow melt playing fetch with the dogs and enjoying the sun.

The view one morning on our walk.

We meet up every morning with our neighbor who owns Kudjo's girlfriend. This cuteness happens the moment they see each other.  You'd think they'd been apart for weeks.

We also came across the male moose that lives in our neighborhood. He's quite big! One morning we looked beside us into the trees and saw eyes looking back. Luckily he decided not to join us that morning on our jaunt.

We've been making an effort to meal plan every week for the past couple months. It's helped us introduce some healthier meals into our menu. We didn't want to jump in too quickly and not stick to it. But this way has been working very well for us.

This week we focused on eating very clean meals. We feel so good! We ate a lot of smoothies! Yum! They were great fuel for when Jillian Michaels kicked our butts during our workouts!

 We even made some granola!

Our landlords listed the house for sale so we took this week as a good time to do our Spring Cleaning and purging! We're probably about 90% done! It feels good to have everything washed and dusted!  We also took the dogs to the vet. For our big dog it's a big ordeal! He gets carsick, doesn't like changes in his routine, and is very excited to meet new people. But we all survived and there next appointment is booked!

We've had a very productive week! I think a staycation is exactly what we needed!

  3. Wow..he is big. We had one in our neighborhood when we lived in AK. He would come join us almost every time we had a bonfire. :)

    1. Hahaha! They are quite the social animals at times! Yes, this is one of the bigger ones I have seen! I don't think I'd like to come across much bigger!
